Chandigarh: In a significant development, the judicial custody of senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia has been extended by 14 days by the court, as confirmed by official sources. Majithia, who is currently incarcerated in Nabha Jail, appeared before the court for the proceedings via video conference.
The extension comes after the completion of the earlier judicial custody period, and the court has set the next hearing date for October 4, 2025.
Bikram Majithia, a prominent political figure in Punjab, has faced multiple legal challenges, and his arrest earlier this year stirred considerable political discourse. His involvement in various cases has been the subject of intense media scrutiny, with his political affiliations often being a point of contention in the ongoing investigations.
