Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the India-Sweden Innovation Day 2026, held in Sweden, as the Chief Guest. At this important event, the Chief Minister emphasised strengthening innovation, trade and industrial cooperation between India and Sweden.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that being present among everyone at Indo-Sweden Innovation Day was a matter of honour and pleasure for him. He said that the event was an important opportunity to advance the shared commitment to innovation for a competitive future under the India-Sweden 2035 vision. He also expressed his gratitude for making Haryana a State Partner in this year’s programme.

The Chief Minister stated that in May 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi elevated India’s relations with Sweden to the level of a strategic partnership. This step is set to take cooperation between the two countries to new heights. Referring to trade figures, he said that India-Sweden trade had increased from USD 2.86 billion in 2016 to USD 7.75 billion in 2025, reflecting the growing strength of bilateral relations.

Saini said that all these projects reflected the shared efforts of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Made with Sweden’. He invited all the dignitaries present at the event to the ‘Happening Haryana Global Investors Summit 2027’, to be held in Haryana. He also extended a cordial invitation to them to visit the sacred land of Kurukshetra in Haryana for the International Gita Mahotsav.
