Amritsar: In a significant strike against cross-border narco-terror networks, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police dismantled two narcotics cartels, arresting six traffickers and seizing 9.066 kg of heroin. The operation was confirmed by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav.
According to a preliminary probe, Harpreet alias Happy Jatt, a gangster from Jandiala Guru, maintained direct links with Pakistan-based smugglers and ran his operations using social media platforms. Investigators believe the cartel formed part of a wider syndicate coordinating the flow of drugs across the border.
Police registered First Information Reports at Police Station Chheharta, Amritsar. Officials said further investigation is underway to map financial transactions, track cross-border connections, and expose larger networks involved in the supply chain.
DGP Yadav reiterated that Punjab Police remains firm in its mission to dismantle drug cartels and protect communities from the scourge of narcotics.
