Chandigarh / Pathankot: With the aim of making cleanliness a people’s movement and ensuring maximum public participation, the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva – 2026’ campaign was launched here today by Punjab Cabinet Minister Mr. Lal Chand Kataruchak. Addressing all Sarpanches and Gram Panchayat members of Block Gharota on the occasion, he said that this year’s campaign will be run on a larger and more effective scale.
On this occasion, under the guidance of DSO-cum-Executive Engineer Sukhjit Singh, ADSO Shri Dhiraj Dogra, the social staff of DWSS of District Pathankot gave detailed information about the campaign to the gathering present.

They informed that the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva – 2026’ campaign has started on September 17 and will continue till October 2, 2026. The main objective of this campaign is to create awareness among people about cleanliness and sanitation as well as to ensure active public participation in cleanliness drives.
On this occasion, Shri Kataruchak also said that during the campaign, various activities will be organized to connect every section of society with cleanliness drives and to instill a sense of shared responsibility towards cleanliness.
