Chandigarh: The Anti-Gangster Task Force of the Punjab Police has arrested Karmveer Singh, an alleged key operative linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal syndicate, at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi shortly after his deportation from Canada. The targeted apprehension marks a significant operational breakthrough against cross-border organized crime networks, following a formal Look Out Circular issued by state law enforcement authorities earlier this month.
Karmveer Singh had been actively pursued in connection with multiple serious criminal cases registered at the State Crime Police Station in SAS Nagar, Mohali, facing charges under the Indian Penal Code, the Arms Act, and the Passport Act. Police records detail an extensive history of violent offences spanning murder, attempted murder, robbery, extortion, and illegal firearms possession across northern India.
According to investigative findings released by senior police officials, Karmveer played a critical role in facilitating international logistical operations for the gang. He is alleged to have arranged covert hideouts, vehicles, travel arrangements, and financial resources for Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, during his stay across various locations in the United States.
The task force took immediate custody of the operative upon his arrival in the capital and transferred him to Punjab for sustained interrogation. Law enforcement officials confirmed that investigators are probing the suspect to unravel details regarding foreign funding channels, overseas operational hubs, and active domestic associates affiliated with the syndicate, with further legal proceedings and disclosures expected in the coming days.
