Mother Dairy Slashes Prices After GST 2.0 Reforms, Festive Season to See Cheaper Dairy and Frozen Products

New Delhi: Mother Dairy has announced sweeping price cuts across its range of products, offering consumers relief just ahead of the festive season. The company’s decision comes after the rollout of GST 2.0, which simplified tax slabs by merging the 12% and 28% categories into just 5% and 18%.

The new prices, effective September 22, 2025, cover popular items such as milk, paneer, butter, ghee, ice cream, frozen peas, pickles, and beverages. Officials confirmed that the company has passed on the full tax benefits to customers.

Revised rates include a ₹2 drop in 1L UHT milk (₹77 to ₹75), paneer reduced by up to ₹6, and butter and ghee prices cut by as much as ₹30 per pack. Ice creams and frozen peas will also be cheaper, with items like cones and chocobars seeing a ₹5 reduction. Safal frozen peas, a staple for households, now cost ₹215 instead of ₹230. Even packaged drinks such as coconut water will see a ₹5 price cut.

Notably, regular poly-pack milk varieties—such as toned and full cream—remain unchanged, as they were already GST exempt.

The move is expected to boost festive demand while easing household expenses, especially at a time when food inflation has weighed on family budgets.
