Jaipur: A tragic incident unfolded in the Kardhani area of Jaipur, Rajasthan, where a man allegedly bludgeoned his wife and three young daughters to death with a heavy cement block inside their residence following a domestic dispute. Authorities reported on Friday that the suspect fled the scene immediately after the killings, prompting law enforcement to initiate an extensive manhunt across the region to locate him.
The victims have been identified as 40-year-old Geeta Jha and her three daughters: 22-year-old Nandini, 17-year-old Radhika, and 14-year-old Gauri. Local authorities and forensic investigators arrived at the family’s home in the Govind Vatika locality after neighbours discovered the scene and alerted the police control room on Friday morning. The deceased were found lying in separate rooms, each having suffered severe blunt-force trauma to their heads and faces.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the attack took place while the victims were asleep during the night, offering them little chance to defend themselves. A solid cement masonry block, believed by investigators to be the primary weapon used in the killings, was recovered from inside the house and secured for detailed forensic examination. Investigators noted that attempts had been made to wipe away bloodstains at the scene prior to the suspect’s departure.
Police have identified the primary suspect as the victim’s husband and father of the girls, Rahul Jha. According to witness accounts gathered by investigators, Jha was seen collecting milk from a local delivery person early on Friday morning around 7:00 AM before abandoning the premises. His elderly father was found unharmed inside the house when officers entered the property.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (Jaipur West) Shiv Kumar Bhadwaj confirmed that multiple specialised police units have been formed to track Jha’s movements. Law enforcement teams are conducting searches across suspected hideouts, reviewing surveillance footage from the neighbourhood, and analysing call records, though Jha’s mobile phone has remained switched off since the morning. Inquiries with relatives and neighbours are underway to reconstruct the sequence of events and clarify the longstanding family tensions that led to the killings.
