Jaipur: Candidates who were unable to complete the NEET-PG 2026 examination at the iON Digital Zone iDZ centre in Sitapura, Jaipur, will get another opportunity to appear for the test on September 5, 2026, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced.
The decision follows a power-related technical failure at the examination centre on Sunday, August 30, which disrupted the computer-based test for candidates allotted to the venue.
Re-examination fixed for September 5
In an official notice issued on Sunday, NBEMS said the examination at iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura (Test Centres 41682 and 41683) could not be completed because of an internal power failure issue attributed to the examination conducting agency.
The re-examination will be held on September 5 at 3 pm in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
NBEMS said the fresh examination would be conducted specifically for candidates who could not complete the test because of the disruption.
More than 2.7 lakh candidates appeared
According to the examination board, 2,73,096 candidates were registered for NEET-PG 2026, while 2,65,980 candidates appeared at 1,111 centres across the country.
The examination was successfully completed for around 2,63,535 candidates, the notice stated.
However, the disruption at the two Sitapura centres affected the examination process for candidates assigned to those venues.
Admit cards to be issued separately
NBEMS said candidates affected by the technical problem will not have to bear any additional consequences for the disruption.
Fresh admit cards for the re-examination will be issued separately, with the board stating that further information regarding the examination venue would be communicated to the concerned candidates.
The development comes after candidates at the Jaipur centre reported difficulties during Sunday’s examination, leading to uncertainty over whether they would receive another opportunity to complete the test.
With the re-examination date now fixed, affected candidates are expected to receive further instructions from NBEMS regarding the venue and revised admit cards.
