New Delhi: Three fugitive Indian gangsters allegedly linked to the Bambiha Gang have been apprehended in Malaysia and deported to India, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s office said on Monday.
The three accused have been identified as Jaspreet Singh, Ajay Singh and Pawandeep Singh. They have been taken into police custody following their return to India.
The accused are wanted in connection with multiple criminal cases, including alleged extortion, cross-border arms trafficking and narco-trafficking.
Accused Linked To Foiled Ludhiana Grenade Attack
According to the Home Minister’s office, Indian agencies coordinated efforts that led to the three fugitives being apprehended in Malaysia and subsequently deported.
Apart from alleged involvement in extortion and cross-border trafficking networks, the three have also been accused of links to a foiled grenade attack in Ludhiana.
“Indian agencies got three absconding Indian gangsters apprehended in Malaysia, deported them to India, and sent them to police custody,” Shah’s office said in a post on X.
Authorities have not yet disclosed further details about the individual cases against the three accused or when they had allegedly fled India.
51 ‘Hardened Criminals’ Deported In 2026, Says Shah’s Office
The Home Minister’s office said Indian agencies have facilitated the deportation of 51 people described as hardened criminals in 2026 so far.
The government said the latest action was part of its efforts to bring fugitives wanted in serious criminal cases back to India to face legal proceedings.
The development also comes amid continued efforts by Indian security and law-enforcement agencies to act against organised crime networks with alleged overseas links, particularly those involved in weapons, narcotics and extortion cases.
Following their deportation from Malaysia, further investigation and legal proceedings against Jaspreet Singh, Ajay Singh and Pawandeep Singh are expected to be carried out by the agencies handling their respective cases.
