New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s top leadership convened in the national capital on Saturday to plan political strategy for five critical state assembly elections due next year and chart out a nationwide campaign marking the completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public life. The deliberations commenced at the party headquarters with an introductory meeting chaired by BJP national president Nitin Nabin alongside his newly constituted team of 69 office-bearers, marking an expansion from the previous 42-member committee.
The initial session brought together key party figures, including national vice-presidents Vasundhara Raje, Manpreet Badal, Ram Madhav, and Tariq Hassan, alongside national general secretaries Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, Satish Poonia, Biplab Deb, and Smriti Irani. Party national general secretary B.L. Santhosh and joint general secretary Shiv Prakash were also present, along with all newly appointed national secretaries and heads of the party’s seven specialised wings.
Following the organisational review, Nabin scheduled a broader strategy session with chief ministers and senior ministers from BJP-ruled states. The agenda focused on planning extensive nationwide outreach programmes highlighting the achievements of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government, alongside structuring campaign strategies for upcoming state elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur, and Goa.
