Saharanpur: Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Parminder Singh and his driver, Ravi Shankar, were killed in a road accident in the Sarsawa police station area of Saharanpur on Saturday. An ITBP jawan who was also travelling in the vehicle sustained injuries during the crash and was admitted to a medical college for treatment.
According to preliminary information, DIG Singh, who hailed from Ropar (Rupnagar) in Punjab, had been visiting the area in connection with the Higher Standard Management Course (HSMC) at the ITBP Academy. The fatal collision occurred while he was travelling out of the area, resulting in his death on the spot. Local authorities have initiated an inquiry into the incident as further details regarding the accident are awaited.
