Chandigarh: All government, government-aided, and private recognized schools across Chandigarh will remain closed on Monday following the Independence Day celebrations. The Chandigarh Administration announced the official holiday in consideration of the extensive participation of students and staff in the ceremonial programs organized for the national festival.
The decision comes after students and educational institutions took part in the grand celebrations and parade routines held at the Parade Ground. The subsequent holiday provides a day of rest for the children and teaching personnel following the intensive preparations and official proceedings connected to the event.
