New Delhi – The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday strongly criticized the Bihar Congress for sharing an AI-generated video that depicted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother in a negative light. The video, posted on the state Congress unit’s X handle on September 10, allegedly showed the Prime Minister dreaming about his mother, who was seen criticising his politics in poll-bound Bihar.
BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla slammed the video, calling it “disgusting” and “shameful.” Posting on X, he wrote, “The Bihar Congress crossed all limits with a disgusting video. This party has become gaaliwadi instead of Gandhiwadi… insulting women and mothers has become the identity of Congress.” Poonawalla accused the Congress of not only failing to show remorse but also defending those responsible.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur echoed similar sentiments, accusing the Congress and RJD of stooping to “new lows in politics.” Addressing reporters, he said, “To mock someone’s late mother for political gain is not just insensitive but shameful. The people of Bihar will never forgive such an insult and will reply through the ballot box in the upcoming assembly elections.”
The controversy follows an earlier incident in Darbhanga last month, where PM Modi’s late mother was allegedly insulted during a Congress-RJD event. Despite repeated attempts, no Congress leader has responded to the BJP’s charges.
