Tarn Taran: Satpal Singh, alias Pala, the 35-year-old younger brother of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Majhail Group State President Satnam Singh Booh Havelian, was allegedly shot dead by his close friend inside his residence in Booh Havelian village in Tarn Taran district. Following the fatal shooting, the suspect fled the scene, taking the victim’s licensed pistol with him.
According to family members and local sources, Satpal Singh had been sleeping in a room at his family home on Wednesday alongside his close friend, identified as Lovepreet Singh, a resident of Kot Buddha village. The two were reportedly inseparable and spent most of their time together. Family members rushed to the bedroom after hearing sudden gunshots, where they discovered Satpal lying severely injured and soaked in blood on the bed, while Lovepreet was nowhere to be found.
Satpal was immediately rushed by family members to Guru Nanak Dev Multispecialty Hospital in Tarn Taran for emergency medical care. However, attending doctors pronounced him brought dead upon arrival due to critical bullet wounds.
Upon receiving information about the incident, personnel from Harike police station arrived at the crime scene to secure evidence and initiate legal proceedings. Law enforcement authorities have launched a formal murder investigation to determine the exact motive behind the sudden shooting, while dedicated police teams have been deployed to track down and arrest the fleeing suspect along with the stolen weapon.
