Dehradun: Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant has approached Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami with a personal request for assistance in acquiring land in the state, saying he wants to shift his base from Delhi and return to his native Uttarakhand.

In a message addressed to the Chief Minister, Pant said he had been trying to find suitable land in Uttarakhand for nearly three years but had been unable to complete the process.

Pant, who has frequently spoken about his connection with Uttarakhand, said he wanted to establish his base in the state and contribute to its development.

“Especially being local from Uttarakhand, I have been trying to buy land to shift my base from Delhi to Uttarakhand,” Pant wrote, adding that finding a sufficiently large and suitable property had proved difficult.

The cricketer appealed to Dhami to look into the matter and help facilitate the land acquisition process. He said the process had become increasingly difficult because of issues surrounding clarity over land and other related matters.

Pant also referred to his earlier association with efforts to promote Uttarakhand, saying that he had supported the state’s promotion while keeping his personal interests aside.

‘I want to move back to my Pahadi people’

Expressing his emotional connection with the state, Pant said he “love[s]” Uttarakhand and wants to return to his roots.

“I wanna move back to my Pahadi people,” he wrote, while expressing his desire to contribute to the state and help build it further.

Pant said he had been waiting for a resolution for around three years and requested the Chief Minister to personally look into the matter.

The cricketer ended his message by seeking a response from Dhami, tagging the Chief Minister in his appeal.

Pant’s request has brought renewed attention to the challenges surrounding land acquisition in Uttarakhand, particularly for people seeking to establish homes or bases in their native state while navigating the applicable land regulations.
