Tehran/Washington: As tensions between Washington and Tehran continue with no diplomatic breakthrough in sight, the United States military is reportedly exploring new ways to increase pressure on Iran. According to a CNN report, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has sought innovative and unconventional ideas from military analysts to shape its future strategy against the Islamic Republic.
An internal email circulated within CENTCOM’s intelligence division last week invited personnel to suggest creative approaches to deal with Iran, reflecting what officials described as a reassessment of existing military options. The unusual move indicates growing concern that conventional strategies have not achieved the desired outcome.
A CENTCOM spokesperson defended the initiative, stating that the command has always encouraged innovative thinking. Captain Timothy Hawkins said Admiral Brad Cooper frequently seeks ideas from personnel across all ranks to improve operational planning and effectiveness.

The reported brainstorming exercise took place shortly before US President Donald Trump threatened fresh military action against Iran before later stepping back following diplomatic outreach from regional leaders, including Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
