Chandigarh: Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs,Manohar Lal on Sunday attended a one-day Antyodaya Mela organised at the Panchayat Bhawan under the first phase of the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana 2.0 as the Chief Guest.

The Mela featured stalls set up by various government departments to provide eligible beneficiaries with information, on-the-spot application facilities and access to a wide range of government schemes and public services under one roof.

Addressing the gathering, the Union Minister said the objective of the Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Parivar Utthan Yojana 2.0 is to bring about a positive transformation in the lives of Antyodaya families and strengthen their economic condition.

He said the scheme seeks to make eligible families self-reliant by linking them with self-employment opportunities, skill development programmes, financial assistance and various welfare schemes. The resolve of Antyodaya is to ensure that every eligible person standing in the last row of society receives the benefits of government welfare schemes, he said.

Manohar Lal added that, besides extending the benefits of various government schemes, the fair would also connect beneficiaries with employment and self-employment opportunities, thereby promoting self-reliance and enhancing their income.

Government Services Should Reach Citizens at Their Doorstep

The Union Minister visited stalls put up by different departments and reviewed the services being provided to beneficiaries. He also interacted with a large number of citizens, listening to their needs and suggestions.

He said effective arrangements had been made to provide eligible beneficiaries with comprehensive information on government schemes, on-the-spot application facilities and timely delivery of benefits at a single location.

He emphasised that the Haryana Government’s initiative goes beyond merely disseminating information about welfare schemes. It is aimed at connecting every eligible family with government programmes to make them self-reliant and empowered. The true objective of good governance is realised only when government services reach the doorstep of the people, he added.

MLA Jagmohan Anand, MLA Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi, MLA Yogendra Rana, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma, Superintendent of Police, Narendra Bijarniya, along with senior officers from various departments, also remained present on this occasion.
