Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, through his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, highlights the skills and success stories of talented individuals to inspire the country’s youth. He said the Prime Minister regularly shares stories of people whose determination, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit motivate others to become self-reliant by taking up self-employment. Such initiatives, he added, are an important step towards realising the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat.
The Chief Minister was speaking after joining citizens in listening to the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme at the Dhanora Jatan Booth located at IGN College in the Ladwa Assembly Constituency of Kurukshetra district on Sunday. Following the broadcast, he also interacted with the people and discussed the key messages of the programme.
Nayab Singh Saini said that during the programme, the Prime Minister congratulated the nation’s sportspersons for their outstanding achievements and extended his greetings on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. He also reiterated his appeal to citizens to plant one tree in the name of their mother under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign.
The Chief Minister said that Haryana has set a target of planting 1.86 crore saplings across the State and that plantation drives are being carried out in different regions to achieve this goal. He appealed to the people to plant a tree on every happy occasion in the family, such as birthdays, wedding anniversaries and other celebrations, and contribute towards environmental conservation.
Former Minister of State Subhash Sudha, Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena, Superintendent of Police Chander Mohan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vivek Arya, SDM Anubhav Mehta and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
