Directs officers to complete all development projects within stipulated timelines

Chandigarh: Haryana Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker, Dr. Krishan Lal Middha on Friday reviewed the implementation of development works announced by Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini for the Jind Assembly constituency and directed officials to ensure that all projects are completed within the prescribed timelines while maintaining high quality standards.

Chairing a review meeting at the Mini Secretariat in Jind, the Deputy Speaker said that every announcement made by the Chief Minister reflects the government’s commitment to the people and its timely implementation remains a key administrative priority. He stressed that there should be no negligence or avoidable delay in executing public welfare projects.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vaishali Sharma, SDM Satyawan Singh Mann and officers from various departments also remained present during the meeting.

Dr. Krishan Middha said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, several initiatives are being undertaken to strengthen infrastructure in the Jind Assembly constituency, including roads, drinking water supply, sewerage, education, healthcare, electricity, sports facilities and irrigation. These projects, once completed, will significantly improve civic amenities and contribute to the region’s overall development.

Reviewing the progress of department-wise projects, he instructed officials to work in close coordination and accelerate pending works so that citizens can benefit from the schemes at the earliest.

The Deputy Speaker also directed Municipal Council officers to complete the required formalities for expanding the urban limits of Jind and forward the proposal to the headquarters, enabling eligible unapproved colonies to be considered for regularisation.

Reviewing the ongoing construction of the Government Medical College, he sought details of the progress on electricity, sewerage, drinking water supply, road connectivity and other essential infrastructure. He also instructed officials of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to expedite the beautification of the Jind bypass and construct a speed breaker near Amarhedi village to improve road safety.

In the meeting reviews also done for the progress of several infrastructure projects, including the Khatkar–Barsola and Dalmwala–Jeevanpur roads, the new building for the Sainik Board, strengthening of the city’s power distribution network, improvement of sewerage arrangements during the monsoon, HSVP road works worth about Rs. 19 crore and drainage measures undertaken in the Julana area. Officials were directed to speed up all incomplete works.

Bhakra canal-based drinking water project progressing steadily

Dr. Krishan Middha also reviewed the progress of the Bhakra canal-based drinking water project with Public Health Engineering Department officials. It was further informed that nearly 60 percent of the work on the new water works at Barodi village has been completed and efforts are being made to finish the project ahead of schedule.

Reviewing education-related projects, the Deputy Speaker directed the Education Department to ensure that all government schools are equipped with functional toilets, safe drinking water and other basic amenities without delay.
