Chandigarh: The Haryana State Legal Services Authority conducts Statewide Special Lok Adalat for Cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act. In pursuance of the vision of ensuring accessible, affordable, and expeditious justice for all, a Special Lok Adalat for cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act was successfully organized across the State of Haryana on 18th July, 2026 under the inspiring leadership of Justice Deepak Sibal, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court and Executive Chairman, Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA).

The Special Lok Adalat was conducted simultaneously in all 22 Districts and 38 Sub-Divisions of Haryana, reaffirming the commitment of the Haryana State Legal Services Authority towards promoting amicable settlement of disputes and strengthening the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism.

During the Special Lok Adalat, 9,590 cases were amicably settled/disposed of, involving a wide range of disputes arising under the Negotiable Instruments Act. The settlements facilitated speedy resolution of long-pending matters, enabling the parties to avoid prolonged litigation, save considerable time and expenses, and restore harmonious relations through mutually acceptable solutions.

The successful conduct of the Special Lok Adalat has made a significant contribution towards reducing the pendency of cheque dishonour cases before courts in Haryana, while simultaneously reinforcing public confidence in the institution of Lok Adalat as an effective, efficient, and citizen-friendly mechanism for dispute resolution.

An amount of Rs. 97,29,66,109/- was settled during the Special Lok Adalat, highlighting the effectiveness of the Lok Adalat mechanism in facilitating amicable dispute resolution.
