Jalandhar (Ens): Lovely Professional University (LPU) transformed the summer break into a season of learning and exploration through a series of upskilling programmes designed for school students. Conducted at different points during the vacation, these initiatives encouraged children to move beyond textbooks and discover new interests through technology, creativity, culture, and experiential learning. From building rockets and flying drones to creating artwork and performing on stage, participants gained meaningful exposure to diverse fields while making the most of their summer holidays.
The eight day AEROBOTIX Bootcamp 2026, organised by the Department of Student Research & Project for students of Classes VII to XII, brought together 71 students from 15 schools for an immersive learning experience in aerospace, robotics, drone technology, and 3D printing. Built around the theme “Where Aerospace Meets Robotics,” the bootcamp enabled participants to design and launch model rockets, explore RC aircraft and drone systems, and develop robotics and 3D printing projects under the guidance of expert mentors. Working in teams, students strengthened their creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem solving skills while experiencing technology through real world applications.
Adding a creative dimension to the university’s summer engagements, the LPU Summer Camp 2026, organised by the Division of Arts & Culture, welcomed young participants into an environment filled with music, dance, theatre, art, and interactive learning. Designed to help children express themselves confidently while exploring new interests, the camp blended skill development with recreation and cultural activities. Also featured series of performances including a Divine Prayer, Folk Orchestra, Retro Beats, Junior Youth Parliament, Junior Jalwa Dance, Megh Leela, Mime, and the play Andher Nagri Chaupat Raja. Participants also displayed artworks and creative projects through a dedicated exhibition, while parents joined interactive activities that added to the festive atmosphere.
Col. Dr. Rashmi Mittal, Pro-Chancellor of LPU, stated, “The journey of learning begins long before children enter higher education. The years when young minds become curious, aware, and eager to explore lay the foundation for their future aspirations. When this curiosity is nurtured in the right direction, children gain the confidence to discover their strengths and pursue their passions. At LPU, we believe vacations can become meaningful opportunities for experiential learning. Through these summer programmes, we sought to create an environment where children could explore technology, creativity, culture, and innovation while learning by doing.”
The programmes concluded with participants receiving certificates in recognition of their successful completion. Beyond the celebrations, the initiatives reflected LPU’s vision of creating meaningful learning experiences where knowledge is applied, creativity is encouraged, and curiosity is transformed into capability.
