Chandigarh: A fresh controversy has erupted within sections of the Sikh community after objectionable photographs allegedly showing Nihang Jasdeep Singh surfaced on social media. The images, which were shared by another Nihang, Vicky Thomas Singh, have triggered widespread discussion online and intensified an already sensitive situation surrounding Jasdeep Singh.
The photographs, described by those circulating them as objectionable, were posted on Vicky Thomas Singh’s social media account along with a strongly worded message expressing disappointment. In his post, Vicky alleged that the individual seen in the images was Jasdeep Singh and claimed the photographs had deeply affected the respect he once had for him.
The issue gained further attention after Vicky Thomas uploaded a lengthy video explaining his allegations. During the video, he also shared a recording of what he claimed was a video call with Jasdeep Singh. According to Vicky, the purpose of the call was to verify the authenticity of the photographs.
In the recorded conversation shared online, Jasdeep Singh is heard acknowledging that he appears in the photographs. He reportedly claimed that he had been under the influence of intoxicants at the time the images were taken. The authenticity of the recording, however, has not been independently verified.
The controversy comes shortly after Jasdeep Singh was in the news following an alleged attack at the historic Gurdwara Sohana Sahib in Mohali. The emergence of the photographs has now shifted public attention toward the latest allegations, prompting intense reactions across social media platforms.
In his video, Vicky Thomas also claimed that he had asked Jasdeep Singh to appear before him and offer an explanation. He alleged that Jasdeep declined to comply and left without accepting the demands placed before him. However, the video does not specify when or where the meeting allegedly took place.
The matter continues to generate debate online, with users expressing sharply divided opinions. As of now, neither the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) nor the Akal Takht has issued any official statement regarding the controversy.
No police complaint or legal action related to the photographs or the viral video has been publicly confirmed so far, and the claims circulating on social media remain subject to verification.
