Rajouri: The anti-terror operation codenamed Operation Sheruwali has entered its 36th consecutive day, with security forces continuing extensive search operations in the dense forests of Dorimal in the Gambir Mughlan area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

A joint contingent comprising the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and other security agencies remains deployed in the region, carrying out coordinated combing operations to locate any remaining militant presence. Officials said surveillance has been significantly intensified, with security personnel maintaining a tight vigil across the forest belt.

The operation, which has now stretched into its second month, is focused on systematically searching difficult terrain while preventing any movement of suspected militants. Security forces have established a strong presence in the area, supported by continuous monitoring and area domination exercises.

Authorities stated that all participating agencies are working in close coordination, sharing intelligence and conducting targeted searches to ensure the mission progresses without compromising civilian safety.

As a precaution, additional security arrangements have also been put in place in and around the operational zone to prevent any untoward incidents and maintain law and order.

Officials reiterated that the operation remains active and will continue until the entire forest region has been thoroughly sanitised and all operational objectives have been achieved. They, however, did not disclose further details, citing the sensitive nature of the ongoing mission.
