Jalandhar: Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora finds himself entangled in yet another legal case, just a day after securing regular bail from the Punjab and Haryana High Court following 105 days in custody.

The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police registered a fresh case against the legislator at the Rama Mandi police station. Arora was brought to court on a production warrant, with police indicating plans to seek his remand for further questioning.

Meanwhile, Raman Arora has been sent to 3-day police custody.

The timing of the latest case has raised eyebrows in political and legal circles. While Arora had only recently received a reprieve from the High Court, the new developments have again placed him under the scanner.

Arora’s troubles began earlier this year when he was arrested from his residence on May 23. Prior to his arrest, the Vigilance Bureau had taken action against ATP Sukhdev Vashisht on May 14. The investigation widened over the following weeks, implicating several close associates, including Arora’s son Rajan Arora, his samadhi Harpreet Kaur, and aide Mahesh Makhija.

While many of the co-accused, including Rajan Arora, Harpreet Kaur, Makhija, and ATP Vashisht, have since been granted bail, the mounting cases continue to weigh heavily on the MLA.
