New Delhi/Punjab, June 15: The Punjab Government’s ongoing ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ campaign against drug trafficking continues to intensify under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. Amid the crackdown on drug peddlers and narcotics networks, the alleged arrest of a BJP office-bearer and his associates in a drug-related case has triggered a fresh political controversy.
Reacting to the development, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, National Media In-Charge Anurag Dhanda, and senior AAP leader Kuldeep Kumar launched a sharp attack on the BJP, alleging that the Punjab Government’s anti-drug drive is exposing individuals allegedly linked to the narcotics trade.
Are ED Party’s Links Connected to Drug Trade? Asks Arvind Kejriwal
Posting on social media platform X, Arvind Kejriwal questioned whether the BJP, which he referred to as the “ED Party,” has links with the drug trade.
“ED Party office-bearers have themselves been caught selling drugs in Punjab. Are the ED Party’s links connected to the drug trade? Today, nearly 70 percent of the drugs entering Punjab are coming through Gujarat. During the alliance of the ED Party and the ‘Chitta Party,’ drugs reached households across Punjab under political patronage,” Kejriwal stated.
He further alleged that the alliance of the “ED Party” and the “Chitta Party” was responsible for damaging Punjab’s youth through the spread of narcotics.
“By striking at the roots of the drug network, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has once again given Punjab’s youth hope for a brighter future,” he added.
Bhagwant Mann Government Has Broken the Backbone of Drug Networks: Anurag Dhanda
AAP National Media In-Charge Anurag Dhanda also reacted to the issue through social media, claiming that the Punjab Government’s anti-drug campaign has severely weakened narcotics networks operating in the state.
“Bhagwant Mann Government has dismantled the drug network so thoroughly that ED Party members have now entered the field themselves to supply drugs. We appeal to CM Bhagwant Mann to continue crushing every element involved in the drug trade and protect Punjab’s future generations,” Dhanda said.
Serious Allegations by AAP Leader Kuldeep Kumar
Senior AAP leader and Kondli MLA Kuldeep Kumar also targeted the BJP over the issue.
He alleged that drugs are being brought into the country through ports and later distributed across different states.
“Punjab Government’s action against drug traffickers has disrupted the illegal trade. This is why those benefiting from the drug business are feeling uncomfortable,” he said.
‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ Campaign Continues Across Punjab
AAP leaders stated that the Punjab Government remains committed to making the state drug-free through sustained action against drug smugglers, peddlers and criminal networks involved in narcotics trafficking.
According to party leaders, the anti-drug campaign is not only targeting drug suppliers but also dismantling the financial and logistical networks that support the narcotics trade.
They claimed that the ongoing drive has strengthened public confidence and renewed hope among Punjab’s youth for a safer and brighter future.
Government Reiterates Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Drugs
The Punjab Government has repeatedly maintained that it follows a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and that strict action will continue against anyone found involved in narcotics-related activities, irrespective of political affiliation or influence.
AAP leaders asserted that the fight against drugs would continue until Punjab is freed from the menace of narcotics and its youth are protected from addiction and criminal networks.
