Amritsar: The Joint Check Post (JCP) Stadium at the Attari-Wagah border in Amritsar is scheduled to host a historic event on Sunday afternoon as Academy Award-winning composer AR Rahman delivers his first-ever live performance at the symbolic venue. Scheduled during the iconic daily Beating Retreat ceremony, the musical gathering is structured as a unique salute to the personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) who guard the frontiers.
Titled “Jai Ho – A Tribute to the Bravehearts,” the musical tribute serves as an expression of gratitude honoring the courage, sacrifice, and commitment of India’s border guards. Organized by the creative team behind the upcoming period romantic drama Main Vaapas Aaunga, which is slated for a theatrical release on June 12, the initiative aims to blend cinematic storytelling, music, and deep patriotism into a memorable national celebration.
The high-profile event is drawing several prominent creative personalities to the border stadium. Accompanying Rahman are film director Imtiaz Ali and actor Vedang Raina, who stars in the upcoming Partition-era drama alongside Diljit Dosanjh and Sharvari Wagh. Featured vocalists from the movie’s soundtrack, including Mohit Chauhan, Nilanjana Ghosh Dastidar, Pooja Tiwari, and Nargis, are also participating to perform the movie’s soulful compositions live. Executive representatives from Birla Studios, Applause Entertainment, and Window Seat Films are attending the cross-border ceremony as well.
