Shimla: Revenue, Horticulture and Tribal Development Minister Jagat Singh Negi today here preside over a meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on the identification and verification of unutilized government land. Deputy Commissioners from all districts joined the meeting through virtual mode.
During the meeting, it was informed that several government departments possess significant areas of unutilized land. The Industries Department has 849 hectares of unutilized land, followed by the Tourism Department with 160 hectares, the Technical Education Department with 70 hectares, the Education Department with 50 hectares, the Panchayati Raj Department with 20 hectares and the Transport Department with 11 hectares.
Jagat Singh Negi directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure that the remaining land entries must be completed and verified at the earliest. He said that this would be the final opportunity for departments to update and verify their records. He said that a detailed chart will be circulated to all departments to facilitate the verification process.

The Committee also sought details of land allotted to Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). The information will be compiled and submitted through a designated spreadsheet format.
Secretary to the Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, Secretary, Digital Technology and Governance Ashish Singhmar, Secretary Ayush A. Shainamol, Secretary Animal Husbandry Ritesh Chauhan, Secretary Cooperation Amarjit Singh and other senior officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
