Chandigarh : Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has directed that all Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state should be upgraded with modern workshops equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and tools suited to current industrial requirements.
He emphasized that ITI courses and curricula must be redesigned in line with industry needs to ensure that students become job-ready immediately after completing their training. This alignment, he said, would not only improve employment opportunities for youth but also ensure that industries receive a steady supply of skilled manpower as per their requirements.
The Chief Minister issued these directions while chairing a review meeting of the Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Department’s five-year action plan under Haryana Vision-2047 at the Haryana Civil Secretariat on Wednesday. He said that regular training and industry coordination should also be ensured for teachers in ITIs, polytechnics, and other vocational institutions so that they can effectively prepare students according to evolving market demands. He further said that the government is also providing incentives to industries that generate employment for youth.
Principal Secretary, Labour and Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Department, Sh. Rajeev Ranjan informed that a survey is being conducted to assess the modernization needs of ITI workshops. In the first phase, orders worth Rs. 10 crore have already been placed for procurement of modern equipment for surveyed ITIs, which will be supplied shortly.
