Governor calls for dedicated Religious Tourism Circuit for Dev Bhoomi Himachal

Pays obeisance at Maa Jawala Devi Ji Temple

Emphasizing the immense spiritual and tourism potential of Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta today called for the creation of a dedicated and well-structured Religious Tourism Circuit for Dev Bhoomi Himachal Pradesh, aimed at connecting the State’s revered temples, Shakti Peeths, monasteries and sacred destinations through better infrastructure, enhanced connectivity and modern pilgrim facilities. He said that such an initiative would not only strengthen the spiritual identity of the State but also generate employment opportunities, boost the local economy and preserve the rich cultural and religious heritage of Himachal Pradesh.

The Governor stated this while interacting with media persons after paying obeisance at the holy shrine of Maa Jawala Devi Temple in Kangra district today. The Governor was accompanied by the  Lady Governor Bindu Gupta.

On the occasion, Kavinder Gupta offered prayers for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of Himachal Pradesh and the entire nation and sought the divine blessings of Maa Jawala Devi for happiness and harmony across the country.

The Governor observed that Himachal Pradesh possesses unparalleled spiritual wealth with world-famous shrines including Maa Jawala Devi Ji, Maa Brajeshwari Devi Ji, Maa Chintpurni Ji, Maa Naina Devi Ji, Maa Chamunda Devi Ji, several ancient temples and monasteries spread across the picturesque hills of the State. He stressed that there is an urgent need to integrate these sacred destinations under a comprehensive Religious Tourism Circuit to facilitate pilgrims and attract devotees from across the globe.

Kavinder Gupta further said that religious tourism has the potential to emerge as a major pillar of Himachal Pradesh’s economy. He called upon the state government, the Ministry of Tourism and all concerned stakeholders to work collectively towards developing world-class facilities for pilgrims while maintaining the sanctity and spiritual essence of these holy places.

The Governor also appreciated the temple authorities and the local administration for maintaining the sacred shrine and ensuring smooth arrangements for the devotees visiting the temple.
