CHANDIGARH: Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao announced that the Health Department will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Medanta Foundation to strengthen maternal and child healthcare services in rural areas of the state. Under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, Maternal and Child Health services at Sub-District Hospital Ateli and Community Health Centres at Farrukhnagar and Mirpur will be upgraded. The initiative will focus on modernising labour rooms, C-section operation theatres, neonatal care facilities, diagnostic services and ambulance support, along with skill development and training of healthcare staff.

The Health Minister said the proposed MoU will initially remain effective for three years and can be extended further based on mutual agreement and performance. She expressed confidence that quality maternal and child healthcare services in the Ateli region and selected CHCs would improve significantly within six months, adding that the initiative would strengthen secondary healthcare delivery, particularly in backward areas of Haryana.

Separately, Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda honoured meritorious Class 10 and 12 students at a felicitation ceremony in Panchkula and said students’ achievements reflect not only their hard work but also the sacrifices of parents and guidance of teachers. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to quality education under the National Education Policy, he encouraged students to stay determined, contribute to nation-building and advised those with lower scores not to lose hope but work harder for future success.
