Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Announces Rs 2 Lakh Relief for Families of Batala Bus Accident Victims

Batala: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has expressed grief over the tragic bus accident reported near Sekhwan police station in Batala that claimed two lives and left several others injured. Calling the incident deeply distressing, the Chief Minister extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for peace for the departed souls.

In an official statement, Mann said the Punjab government stands firmly with the families affected by the tragedy and announced an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the mishap.

He also assured that all injured passengers would receive free and quality medical treatment at government expense. The Chief Minister wished the injured a speedy recovery and directed authorities to ensure there is no delay in treatment or relief measures.

According to the statement, rescue efforts were launched immediately after information about the accident reached the administration. Teams from the police department, medical emergency services, and the state’s Road Safety Force rushed to the site and began relief and evacuation operations without delay.
