Surprise Fire and Flood Mock Drill Conducted at HVPNL Substations

Chandigarh: Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL) conducted a surprise mock Fire and Flood drill on Wednesday at 10:00 AM by randomly selecting substations across Haryana to ensure the adequacy of safety equipment as well as operational response time, in case of any emergency arising due to fire and flood-like incidents.

Sharing information in this regard, a spokesperson of the Nigam said that the mock drills were carried out at substations of different voltage ratings located at IMT Manesar, Daulatabad (Gurugram), Gharaunda (Karnal) and Nuhianwali (Sirsa).

The spokesperson said that field officers and staff demonstrated coordinated response actions, operation of safety systems, emergency communication procedures and disaster management measures while ensuring that power supply and grid operations remained unaffected.

Senior officers monitored the exercise closely and directed all concerned officials to strictly follow safety protocols and emergency response procedures. The spokesperson further said that the successful conduct of the mock drill reflects HVPNL’s commitment towards ensuring reliable power transmission and enhancing emergency preparedness across the State.
