Chandigarh: The Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) has arrested a man identified as Jagroshan Singh, a resident of Naushera Pannua in Tarn Taran, in connection with the recent firing at Zira, Ferozepur. The incident, which occurred on August 14, 2025, had targeted a local businessman, sparking widespread concern in the region.

According to police officials, initial inquiries have revealed that the attack was orchestrated at the behest of Canada-based gangster Lakhbir Singh, alias Landa, a known figure in transnational organized crime. Investigators are now mapping out the wider network involved in the conspiracy.

A case has already been registered at Police Station Zira, Ferozepur, and further probes are underway to trace associates and handlers connected to the plot.

DGP Gaurav Yadav confirmed the arrest in a post on social media platform X, reiterating that Punjab Police will continue its crackdown on gangsters and organized syndicates to ensure public safety.
