Amritsar: Air travellers in Amritsar will soon get improved domestic connectivity as IndiGo is set to begin direct flight services between the holy city and Noida starting June 15.
The new route will operate through the recently launched Noida International Airport, further strengthening flight options from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport.
As part of the expansion, the airline will also operate a daily Hyderabad-Amritsar service via Noida, creating smoother travel options for passengers flying between Punjab and southern India.
According to the announced schedule, flight 6E 2490 will leave Hyderabad at 6:25 am and reach Noida at 8:35 am before departing for Amritsar at 10:10 am and landing at 11:20 am.
For the return journey, flight 6E 2491 will take off from Amritsar at 12:15 pm, arrive in Noida at 1:20 pm, and continue onward to Hyderabad at 2:50 pm, reaching its destination by 4:50 pm.
Welcoming the announcement, aviation supporters associated with the Fly Amritsar campaign said the service would significantly enhance connectivity for Punjab-based travellers while opening access to several connecting domestic routes through Noida.
The development also marks a milestone for Noida International Airport, where IndiGo has become the first airline to begin commercial operations.
The airline is expected to gradually increase services from the new NCR airport, linking it with more than 16 destinations nationwide, including Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Srinagar, Jaipur, Lucknow and Dharamsala.
The latest addition is expected to offer greater convenience for business travellers, tourists and pilgrims while reinforcing Amritsar’s growing role as a key domestic aviation hub in northern India.
