SHIMLA: A Spokesperson of the state government today here informed that the National Film Development Corporation Ltd. (NFDC) has invited online applications for short films, documentaries and animation projects for participation in the Viewing Room section of Waves Doc Bazaar 2026, being organised under the Mumbai International Film Festival. The Spokesperson said that the Viewing Room provides filmmakers from around the world an opportunity to present recently completed films or projects in post-production to film festival programmers, distributors, world sales agents, investors and other industry buyers.

He said that this specialized platform helps connect filmmakers with potential global partners for film festivals, distribution opportunities, world sales and finishing funds in a secure and highly restricted environment. He further informed that documentary and animation films of all durations, including short, mid-length and feature-length films, are eligible for submission, provided that a substantial portion of principal photography has been completed. Films in development or pre-production stages are not eligible.

He said that projects with limited or no international exposure are especially encouraged to apply. He said that for detailed eligibility criteria, rules, submission guidelines and application process, interested applicants may visit the official website: https://miff.in/en/viewing-room.
