Chamba (Himachal Pradesh): At least 11 pilgrims lost their lives during the Manimahesh Yatra in Chamba district after heavy rainfall triggered a massive landslide in Bharmour. Among the victims were three from Punjab, one from Uttar Pradesh, and five from Chamba, while the identities of two others are yet to be confirmed.

Officials said the deaths occurred due to falling rocks from the hills and oxygen shortage at higher altitudes. Nearly 3,000 pilgrims remain stranded in the Bharmour region as rescue teams struggle against harsh weather conditions.

This tragedy follows another landslide last week that killed seven pilgrims and left nine missing. Authorities have urged devotees to remain cautious, warning that unpredictable weather continues to endanger the annual yatra.
