Kolkata: The political landscape of West Bengal is poised for a monumental shift as Suvendu Adhikari has been designated as the state’s next Chief Minister. This decision follows a decisive electoral performance by the Bharatiya Janata Party, which secured 207 seats in the legislative assembly, effectively ending the long-standing tenure of the Trinamool Congress. The formal announcement regarding the leadership is scheduled for this evening at 5:00 PM, following a high-level meeting of the newly elected legislators in Kolkata. In a first for the state, the new administration will feature two Deputy Chief Ministers to represent diverse regional and demographic interests. Former actress and parliamentarian Roopa Ganguly has been confirmed for one of the deputy positions, while the second post will be occupied by a male legislator from the Darjeeling hills.
