Shimla: Authorities in Shimla are stepping up security measures after a new bomb threat surfaced on the city’s outskirts, adding to a series of similar incidents that have raised concerns about public safety in recent months.

A threatening poster was discovered along Bhrarai Road, warning of potential explosions at a courtroom and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office in Rohru. Acting swiftly, police teams were deployed to inspect the premises, with thorough checks underway to rule out any immediate danger.

Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh confirmed that the matter is being treated seriously. He said security agencies have been instructed to trace those responsible for putting up the poster, while precautionary searches are ongoing at sensitive locations in Rohru.

Officials noted that such threats have become increasingly frequent in the district. In recent months, anonymous messages circulated online have warned of attacks targeting the Himachal Pradesh High Court and several well-known educational institutions in the city.

The situation escalated earlier this week when multiple schools were forced to send students home after receiving bomb threats, triggering panic among parents and staff. Though no explosives were found, the repeated nature of these warnings has prompted authorities to reconsider their preparedness.

District officials are now working on a coordinated response plan in collaboration with school administrations and law enforcement agencies. The strategy is expected to focus on rapid evacuation protocols, communication systems, and preventive surveillance to handle future threats more effectively.

While investigations continue, police have urged the public to remain alert but avoid panic, assuring that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure safety and maintain order.
