New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday released the schedule for the second phase of Class 10 board examinations, which will be conducted from May 15 to May 21.
As per the official datesheet, the examination cycle will commence with Mathematics (Standard and Basic) on May 15. This will be followed by English (Communicative) and English (Language and Literature) papers on May 16, while the Science exam is scheduled for May 18.
A range of language and elective subjects, including Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bangla, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati and several foreign languages, will be held on May 19. The same day will also cover Home Science and select vocational subjects.
On May 20, students will appear for Sanskrit, Painting, Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence papers. The examination cycle will conclude with the Social Science paper on May 21.
The datesheet was issued by Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj, shortly after the announcement of results for the first phase of Class 10 board exams.
From 2026 onwards, CBSE has introduced a two-exam system for Class 10. While the first examination, held in February, is mandatory, the second phase in May is optional and allows students to improve their scores or clear failed subjects.
Students are permitted to appear in up to three subjects in the second phase and can retain their best scores.
