Authorities Order Evacuation of 14 Border Villages in Amritsar Amid Rising Ravi River Flood Threat

Amritsar: The administration has ordered the evacuation of 14 border villages near Ramdas in Amritsar as the flood situation worsens due to rising water levels in the Ravi river.

Ajnala SDM Ravinder Singh Arora informed that continuous rainfall and increasing water flow in the Ravi have created a severe flood threat. To ensure timely safety measures, Tehsildar Ajnala, BDPO Ramdas, and Naib Tehsildar Ramdas have been directed to oversee the evacuation process.

The affected villages include Ghonewala, Nissoke, Panjgrai Wahla, Ghobrae, Roorewala, Darya Moosa, Malikpur, Gillanwale, Bedi Chhanna, Kot Rajada, Chaharpur, Kamirpura, Ball Labhe Darya, and Sahewala.

Officials have also been strictly instructed not to remain absent from duty during this period. They have been directed to keep their phones switched on and attend all calls to ensure prompt response in case of emergencies.

The administration has urged residents to cooperate fully with the evacuation process to minimize risks and safeguard lives.
