Shimla: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today laid the foundation stone of construction of electrical division and sub-division office buildings and augmentation of 33 KV sub-station at Jawalamukhi in Kangra district.
The estimated cost of both the projects is approximately Rs. 4 crore and will benefit more than 35,000 consumers of various categories and Jal Shakti Schemes.

Speaking on this occasion, Sukhu announced another electrical sub-division at Dehriyan in Jawalmukhi along with provisions of Rs. 10 crore. This will go a long way in reducing voltage fluctuation and providing the consumers of the area with reliable 24×7 power supply. He said that nine 33 KV electrical sub-divisions have already been announced for the area by allocating Rs. 48 crore for which the construction work is under progress in various phases.
The Chief Minister stated that the state government is working under a master plan to develop religious tourism in Jawalamukhi, Chintpurani and Naina Devi. He said that Rs. 150 crore would be spent on beautification of Jwalamukhi and Naina Devi and announced to provide Rs. 25 crore as the first installment in the first phase for beautification of both the areas.

Earlier, the Chief Minister paid obeisance at Jawalamukhi temple and also inspected the beautification works being carried out at different places. MLA Sanjay Rattan thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating various developmental projects worth crores in his home segment during the present government’s regime.
MLA Kamlesh Thakur, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Ex-Servicemen Corporation Col. Maneesh Kumar and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
