Kejriwal Joins Stalin for Chennai Roadshow, Sparks Buzz in Tamil Nadu Political Circles

Chennai: AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday arrived in Chennai to campaign alongside DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, marking a significant political development ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

The two leaders are set to hold a joint roadshow, launching the campaign in support of the DMK. The route of the roadshow includes Pulianthope P1 police station, Masjid, Thattankulam, and Choolai.

Kejriwal’s participation is being seen as the first public endorsement of Stalin by a prominent leader from the opposition INDIA bloc during the ongoing election campaign.

The development has drawn attention as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Stalin have not shared a campaign platform so far. The DMK had earlier stated that both leaders would campaign separately, citing scheduling conflicts.

However, Kejriwal’s appearance alongside Stalin has triggered political speculation over the dynamics within the opposition alliance, with observers questioning whether the DMK views the AAP leader as a stronger campaign presence in the state at this stage.

The BJP and AIADMK have already seized on the development, alleging visible differences between the Congress and DMK on the ground.

Tamil Nadu is set to go to polls on April 23 for its 234-member Assembly. The Congress is contesting 28 seats as part of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance.
