Chandigarh: A political exchange has emerged within the Aam Aadmi Party after recent changes in its parliamentary leadership structure, with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann responding sharply to remarks made by party MP Raghav Chadha.
The development follows the party’s decision to remove Chadha from the position of Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha and assign the role to Ashok Mittal. The move triggered criticism from Chadha, who alleged that he was being restricted from voicing public concerns.
Addressing the issue, Mann dismissed the allegations and questioned Chadha’s record in Parliament. He claimed that key issues concerning Punjab were not adequately raised, including the matter of funds allegedly withheld by the Centre.
The Chief Minister also indicated that party discipline remains a priority, suggesting that leaders deviating from the party’s collective stance could face action. He further remarked that Chadha’s recent statements appeared disconnected from the party’s official position.
The exchange highlights internal tensions within the party, even as it continues to navigate governance responsibilities in Punjab and its role in national politics.
