New Delhi: Iran has expressed gratitude to India, Pakistan, Spain and Germany for their “support and solidarity” during the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.
In a social media statement, the Consulate General of Iran in Mumbai acknowledged the people of these countries, particularly in the context of what it described as the “83rd wave of missile response” to actions by the US and Israel. However, the statement did not specify the exact nature of the support being referenced.
India has consistently called for de-escalation, urging all sides to halt hostilities and avoid further instability in the region. Concerns have also been raised over the potential disruption of the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy corridor.
Diplomatic engagement has remained active, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in contact with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has also held discussions with his Iranian counterpart Seyed Abbas Araghchi.
Meanwhile, the United States Central Command stated that it has targeted thousands of sites in Iran since the start of its campaign on February 28. Reports from Washington indicate that US lawmakers are being briefed on possible next steps, including the option of deploying ground troops.
With tensions continuing to rise, global diplomatic efforts remain focused on preventing further escalation and ensuring stability in the region.
