Chandigarh: Haryana Public Health Engineering Minister, Ranbir Gangwa said that Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini is committed to ensuring ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jaal’ tap reaches every household. In line with this vision, the department is working continuously to ensure the provision of drinking water in newly developed regular colonies.
The Minister was responding to a question raised by MLA, Geeta Bhukkal during the ongoing budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today. He said that recently, drinking water supply plans for 25 regular colonies in Jhajjar have been prepared, and estimates for these projects have also been completed.
The Minister further informed that in villages of the Jhajjar constituency, including Kaliawas, Khanpur Kalan, Mundsa, Khorra, Bahu, Noganwa, Salhawas, Matanhail, Dhana Dhanirwas, as well as Jhajjar city, canal-based drinking water supply schemes are providing water according to prescribed standards.
The Minister further shared that water storage tanks in all these canal-based water systems are regularly cleaned and maintained. Special campaigns are also conducted to prevent leaks and carry out repairs in the drinking water pipelines. During the summer and monsoon seasons, pipelines are closely monitored.
He said that to ensure water quality, samples from each source are chemically tested every year in NABL-accredited departmental laboratories. He clarified that the Public Health Engineering Department has not installed any handpumps, and so far, there has been no supply of packaged drinking water to any village or town in the Jhajjar assembly constituency.
The Minister further assured that, through the department’s ongoing efforts, the work of providing safe and clean water to every household in the state will continue without interruption.
