Delhi: Three people were injured after a cooking gas cylinder caught fire in southeast Delhi’s Madanpur Khadar locality on Thursday, prompting a swift response from emergency services.

According to the Delhi Fire Service, the incident was reported earlier in the day, following which three fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Firefighters began efforts to contain and douse the flames while ensuring nearby residents were moved to safety.

Officials said the blaze was triggered after a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder ignited, though the exact cause of the incident is yet to be determined. The injured individuals were provided medical assistance, and their condition is being assessed.

Authorities have not disclosed further details about the extent of damage to the property or whether additional casualties were involved. An investigation is expected to determine how the fire broke out.

The incident comes days after separate fire emergencies were reported at two industrial units in the Sahibabad Industrial Area’s Site 4, highlighting ongoing concerns over fire safety in residential and industrial zones.

More information is awaited as firefighting operations continue and officials complete their preliminary assessment.
