Mohali: Several schools in Mohali were evacuated after receiving fresh bomb threats, triggering heightened security measures across the district.

According to officials, a threatening email was sent to Gyan Jyoti Global School in Phase 2, with references to other schools as well. Following the alert, authorities swiftly evacuated the premises to ensure the safety of students and staff.

The email also reportedly mentioned a threat to blow up Fortis Hospital Mohali, prompting security agencies to step up vigilance in the area.

Police and bomb disposal squads have been deployed to conduct thorough checks. So far, no suspicious objects have been reported.

The development comes just a week after nearly 16 schools in Mohali received similar threats, posing a continuing challenge for the administration.

The situation is particularly sensitive as the CBSE mathematics examination is scheduled for today. Police are inspecting schools designated as examination centres to ensure the exams can be conducted safely and without disruption.
