Delhi: Several schools across Delhi were placed on high alert on Monday after a series of bomb threat messages triggered swift security responses from law enforcement and emergency agencies.

Police officials said alerts were received during the morning hours, shortly after the start of the school day, prompting immediate deployment of bomb disposal units, dog squads, and fire service teams. The threats affected multiple institutions spread across different parts of the capital, including campuses in South Delhi, Rohini, New Friends Colony, and the Delhi Cantonment area. As a precaution, thorough inspections were carried out and access to school premises was tightly controlled.

Among the institutions that reported receiving the threatening messages were Loreto Convent School in Delhi Cantt, Cambridge School branches in Srinivasanpuri and New Friends Colony, Venkateshwar School in Rohini, and Bal Bharati School, also located in Rohini. Authorities confirmed that safety protocols were activated immediately, with emergency personnel remaining on site while searches were conducted.

Preliminary information suggests the threats were sent via email and contained references to Khalistan, with the sender claiming affiliation with an organisation calling itself the Khalistan National Army. Police have begun an investigation to trace the origin of the messages and verify their authenticity. Officials stressed that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety of students and staff, and urged the public to remain calm while inquiries continue.
