Gurugram: Tension gripped parts of Gurugram on Wednesday morning after multiple private schools reported receiving bomb threat emails, prompting swift action from law enforcement agencies and school authorities.
At least six schools across different sectors of the city were affected, leading to heightened security measures and precautionary evacuations. Police, bomb disposal units and sniffer dog squads were rushed to the campuses as part of standard safety procedures, while the district administration remained on alert.
The schools that reported the threatening emails include Kunskapalan School and Shiv Nadar School in DLF Phase 1, Lancers School in Sector 53, Heritage Experiential Learning School in Sector 64, Shri Ram Aravali School and Pathways World School near Badshahpur.
School officials said the emails were received shortly after 7 am, just as school buses had begun arriving. The police control room was immediately informed, and managements acted quickly to prevent panic. Parents were asked to stop sending students to school, while children who had already reached the campuses were sent back home safely.
Police teams reached the locations within minutes and began thorough checks of classrooms, corridors and open areas. State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel were also deployed to assist with the operation. Entry points were secured and movement around the schools was restricted during the searches.
A senior police official said that no suspicious material had been recovered so far. “All necessary protocols are being followed. The situation is under control, and verification is underway,” the officer said, adding that authorities were coordinating closely with school administrations.
While the threats caused temporary disruption and anxiety among parents, officials urged citizens to remain calm and assured that strict action would be taken once the source of the emails is traced. Further updates are expected as the investigation continues.
