Conflicting Forensic Reports Spark Fresh Debate Over Atishi Video Authenticity

New Delhi — A political and legal row has intensified after the Delhi Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) certified a video linked to Delhi Leader of Opposition Atishi as genuine, stating that no evidence of editing or manipulation was found in the footage.

The video was referred to the Delhi FSL after opposition parties sought an independent examination, following which Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta directed that it be sent for forensic scrutiny. According to the Delhi lab’s findings, the video remains intact and unaltered.

The report has raised serious questions as it runs contrary to claims made earlier by the Punjab Police, which had asserted that a forensic examination conducted in Punjab concluded the video was doctored. On the basis of that assessment, the video’s credibility had been challenged, alleging deliberate tampering.

The Aam Aadmi Party had also consistently dismissed the video as fake. However, the Delhi forensic report has now contradicted both the Punjab Police’s version and the party’s stance, bringing the matter back into sharp focus.

With two forensic laboratories arriving at opposing conclusions on the same material, the controversy has widened. The conflicting assessments have triggered concerns over the reliability of forensic investigations and have fuelled demands for clarity on which report reflects the truth.
